Privacy Policy

Last updated August 18, 2026

Scrivener's Quill ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you use scrivenersquill.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and the event registration it provides.

Effective August 2026.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run our programs:

  • Registration details you provide when you sign up for an event: your name, email address, bar number, firm or organization, and the state in which you are seeking credit.
  • Messages you send us through the contact form.
  • Your email address if you join our mailing list.
  • Basic technical information your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, used to keep the site secure and working.

We do not collect payment card numbers. When you pay for an event, you are taken to our payment processor's secure page, and your card details are handled entirely by them (see "Payments" below).

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

  • Register you for events and confirm your place.
  • Send you booking confirmations, receipts, reminders about events you have registered for, and follow-up requests such as evaluations.
  • Respond to your questions and requests.
  • Send occasional updates about our programs, but only if you have joined our mailing list.
  • Keep records required to administer continuing legal education.

Payments

Card payments are processed by Authorize.net. Your card information is entered on their secure, hosted page and is not stored on our servers. Authorize.net's handling of your payment information is governed by their own privacy practices.

Email

We send email through Brevo, our email provider, acting on our behalf. Marketing emails include a way to unsubscribe; you can opt out at any time and we will stop sending them.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us operate — our payment processor and our email provider — and only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and payment records for as long as needed to provide our programs, maintain continuing legal education records, and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize them.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time using the link in any marketing email. To ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to request deletion, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Cookies

The public website uses a minimal cookie only where needed for the site to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Signing in to the administrative area sets a secure session cookie for that purpose only.

Children

Our programs are intended for legal professionals and other adults. The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
