Where the practice of law meets the great works of literature.

Accredited continuing legal education that ties literature, history, and the humanities to the everyday practice—and ethics—of law.

Attorneys and colleagues gathered at a continuing legal education reception

“A new way to view the practice of law.”

Our Mission

Reforming and strengthening legal education through a study of the humanities.

The Model Rules of Professional Conduct challenge us directly: “As a member of a learned profession, a lawyer should cultivate knowledge of the law beyond its use for clients, employ that knowledge in reform of the law and work to strengthen legal education.” We know no better instruction in the law “beyond its use to clients” than to see how it lives in creative writing.
